CDR Deepak Adhar

CDR Deepak Adhar

Deepak was a pilot in the Fleet Air Arm of the Indian Navy and held various operational, staff and command appointments in a career spanning over two decades. As Deputy Director of Naval Training at the IHQ of Ministry of Defence (Navy), he was responsible for inter-disciplinary Maritime Training policymaking. He, after that, commanded the pioneer airborne Maritime Reconnaissance Training Squadron of the country. During his stint as Joint Director Naval Air Staff (Aviation Organisation and Training) at the Ministry of Defence, he discharged the Corporate HR function for the Indian Navy’s Aviation Force with a specific focus on Manpower Planning, Training and Organisation structuring.

Deepak did his schooling from RIMC Dehradun, BSc (Jawahar Lal University) MSc in Defence and Strategic Studies (Madras University), Executive Management Program specialising in HR and Strategic Marketing (XLRI Jamshedpur), Management Development Program in Advanced HR at XLRI Jamshedpur sponsored by MaFoi Consulting Solutions Ltd and research scholarship with XLRI Jamshedpur in pursuit of Executive Fellowship Program in Management with area of interest being Performance Management.

Work and Interests

In his decade long corporate life in the HR function, he was performing operational, strategic and consultant roles with a focus on Organisation Development involving learning and development initiatives for all employees. After that, as faculty at Pegasus Academy & Consulting, he designed and delivered learning and development programs, especially around leadership and teamwork, with specific emphasis on Emotional Intelligence and Intrinsic Motivation, including using theatre as a medium. Towards eminence and thought leadership, Deepak has published articles on HR and leadership in “People and Management” and interviews and profiles being carried in the print media, e.g. Times Ascent. Multiple reports by Deepak can be accessed on LinkedIn with vast viewership, and he has also been published in a book, “Rigour”, in 2021.

Deepak has a rich and varied experience of mergers and acquisitions, corporate demergers, succession planning, manpower planning, organisation structuring, performance management and organisation transformation, both as an HR leader within an organisation as well as a consultant for client organisations. An indicative list of corporates with whom Deepak has engaged in the foregoing roles include Premier Automobile, Bajaj Financial Capital, Power Finance Corporation, India Infrastructure Finance Corporation, Peerless Hospitals, National Automotive Testing and R& D Infrastructure Project (NATRIP), KCT Coal Sales, Indian City Properties, Carzonrent, Shivalik Bimetalic Controls, Greenply Industries, Triveni Engineering and Industries, Greenlam Industries etc.
