VIMCAT 2021

VIMCAT Logo VIMCAT is the combined admission test for PGD2C3 (Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Content Creation and Communication) and the four certificate programmes run by VIMC, which focusses on enhancing skills of individuals for a successful career in the field of mass communication in the post-Covid world.

VIMCAT Procedure

VIMC will conduct its admission test – VIMCAT for the candidates who apply to VIMC Admission 2021 for PGD2C3 based on VIMCAT scores. VIMCAT is a Pen-Based Test (PBT*). The test is conducted once a year to select candidates for the PGD2C3 and the four certificate courses.

Candidates appearing in the tests and qualifying will have the opportunity of getting into VIMC. VIMCAT Registration is about to be open on 30th July 2021. The last date to apply for VIMCAT is Aug 30, 2021. Candidates will have to apply online. VIMCAT is a Pen-based exam and will be held on Sept 12, 2021. VIMC admission test, VIMCAT 2021, is a multidimensional Pen-based examination that will assess candidates in general awareness and Language Proficiency.

On the basis of the evaluation of VIMCAT, the personal interview would be conducted on the given date.

VIMCAT Eligibility

What will be the Eligibility of VIMCAT 2021?

Graduate in any discipline for PGD2C3; anybody with an aptitude for mass communication for certificate programmes

  • For Indian Participants – Graduates (10+2+3) from a recognized university (UGC/AICTE/ DEC/AIU/State Government) in any discipline can register for VIMCAT.
  • For International Participants – Graduation or equivalent degree from any recognized University or Institution in their respective country can register for VIMCAT.

VIMCAT 2021 Exam Pattern

VIMC Admission through VIMCAT comprises 500 marks in total, out of which

1. 200 marks comprising of Section 1 and Section 2 (i.e. 100 marks each respectively.)
• Section 1 (General Awareness Paper)
• Section 2 (Language Proficiency)

2. 300 marks for GD/PI [Group discussion (GD) & Personal Interview (PI)]
VIMCAT is divided into two sections:

Section 1 (General Awareness Paper) comprises of the following:

a) It is an objective-based exam. (MCQ based)
b) Comprises of 25 questions for 100 Marks.
c) Time duration of the exam will be an Hour (60 Minutes)
d) The Paper is based on

I. Current Affairs
II. Class 12 level General Studies and General Science

Section 2 (Language Proficiency) comprises of the following:

a) A descriptive paper to check writing skills
b) Comprises of 2 questions (choice-based)
c) Time duration of the exam will be an Hour (60 Minutes)
d) The Paper is based on essays from current affairs/culture/cinema/politics and society.

VIMCAT: How to apply

VIMCAT application and registration form for the new as well as existing applicants is released by VIMC Delhi. Candidates can fill-up the form to apply online.
The registration and application form is the same for New applicants and for already-registered users. You need to click on your category:

VIMCAT Registration fee is Rs. 2200/- and should be paid online.

VIMC Selection Process: Components & Weightages, GD-PI Process, Final Merit List

VIMC will conduct the final selection process for admission in 2021 from September 12 to September 28, 2021, in Delhi. Read below the key components, steps and weightage awarded in the VIMC Selection process. The selection process for PGD2Cand other certification programmes 2021-22 batch at VIMC involves two steps:

Step-I: Appear in VIMC Admission Test (VIMCAT). All candidates who have applied for VIMC Admission 2021 need to appear in the Pen-based VIMCAT exam. They are assessed on VIMCAT score, which consists of 2 sections: General Awareness and Language Proficiency.

Step-II: Appear in GD & PI: All the candidates shortlisted based on their performance in VIMCAT shall appear for both GD & PI at the designated centre on designated dates Preparation of Merit List: All those candidates who appear in GD & PI and fulfil the following conditions will be considered for the merit list:

• Majority recommendation by all the panel members of PI.
• At least 130 or more on a 200-point scale in GD
• At least 210 or more on a 300-point scale in PI
